HS BASKETBALL: Tug, Shelby Valley, PHS roll

NAUGATUCK – Tug Valley used a balanced scoring attack to roll past Van, 90-57, in a game played Dec. 11.

Ethan Colegrove tossed in a game-high 21 points as the Panthers improved to 2-0. Caleb May followed with 19 and Joby Sorrell chipped in 10.

Caleb Price paced the Bulldogs (0-2) with 16 points.

PAINTSVILLE – Shelby Valley took the lead early on against Johnson Central and cruised to an 80-61 victory at Paul R. Setser Fieldhouse Dec. 11.

Cameron Worrix fired in a game-high 27 points to lead three Wildcats in double-figure scoring. Cody Potter followed with 25 and Orbie McPeek added 12 as Valley improved to 4-0.

Isaiah May paced the Golden Eagles (1-1) with 14 points while Jacob Rice chipped in 10.
