HS BASKETBALL: Sheldon Clark edges Betsy Layne

INEZ – Sheldon Clark’s Trey James tossed in 13 points and Braxton Maynard added 12 as the Cardinals turned back Betsy Layne, 48-44, Dec. 6.

Jordan Dalton chipped in eight as the Cardinals improved to 2-1.

Brady Robinson paced the Bobcats (2-3) with 11 points and Zack Bentley added 10.

Anna Keeton poured in a game-high 31 points and Elizabeth Williams added 28 as the Lady Tigers improved to 3-0. Katelyn Newsome added 11.

Kelsie Jo Tackett paced the Lady Panthers, now 1-2, with 21 points while Alivia Gearheart followed with 18. Grace Bartley tallied 16 and Kirsten Cole-Williamson net 12.

WISE, Va. – East Ridge struggled offensively as Central (Va.) cruised past the Lady Warriors, 58-32, in the Powell Valley National Bank Tip-Off Classic Dec. 6.
