MOREHEAD – Lawrence County couldn’t overcome a first-half deficit as Morgan County pulled away for a 77-60 in the 2A sectional championship semifinals played Jan. 12.
Tyler Maynard led the Bulldogs, now 12-5, with 18 points. Cody Maynard followed with 16 while Chase Sartin tallied 13. Noah Fairchild chipped in eight.

Isaiah May led a balanced scoring attack for the Golden Eagles, now 12-2, with a game-high 20 points. Jacob Rice fired in 19 while John King followed with 16. Cory VanHoose added 10 and Bryson Hackney chipped in nine.

JENKINS – Jenkins landed four players in double-figure scoring but it wasn’t enough as Lee County left with a 74-61 victory over the Cavaliers in a game played Jan. 12.
Chad Fleming led the way for Jenkins (1-14) with 20 points while Ethan Cummings and Jahkaya Templier followed with 14 each. Payton Rose added 11.

WARFIELD – Johnson Central dominated from the opening tip and cruised to an 85-59 victory over Sheldon Clark in a game played at Martin County Middle School Gymnasium Jan. 11.
Isaiah May poured in a game-high 23 points as Johnson Central moved to 11-2. Jacob May finished with 21 and Cory VanHoose followed with 17.
Trey James had 18 points and 13 rebounds to finish with a double-double for the Cardinals, now 5-10. Jordan Dalton and Braxton Maynard tallied 11 each while Nick Maynard added nine.
