HS BASKETBAL: Lady Panthers win streak five

RACELAND – Pikeville took charge against Elliott County and the Lady Panthers won their fifth straight game and third in the Mr. Micro Computers Ohio River Classic with a 64-49 victory in a game played at Raceland High School Dec. 29.

Olivia Gearheart paced the Lady Panthers, now 8-5, with 14 points. Jaden Edmonds tossed in 11 and Kirsten Cole-Williamson followed with nine.

Leslie Stewart added eight points and nine rebounds and Trinity Rowe chipped in eight points.

RACELAND – Pikeville grinded its way to a second-round win in the Mr. Micro Computers Ohio River Classic, downing Tolsia, 50-35, in a game played Dec. 28.

Alivia Gearheart led a balanced scoring attack with 11 points as Pikeville moved to 7-5. Kirsten Cole-Williamson just missed a double-double. She had nine points and 12 rebounds.

Trinity Rowe and Grace Bartley tossed in nine apiece.

RACELAND – Pikeville had to work overtime to earn a 71-66 win over West Carter in the opening round of the Mr. Micro Computers Ohio River Classic played Dec. 27.

Grace Bartley led four Lady Panthers (6-5) with 20 points. Kirsten Cole-Williamson and Kelsey Jo Tackett followed with 14 points each and Olivia Gearheart chipped in 11. Williamson also had 12 boards to record a double-double.

GATLINBURG, Tenn. – Pikeville used a balanced scoring attack to close out the Smoky Mountain Classic with a 67-45 victory over Paris in a game played at Gatlinburg-Pittman High School Dec. 22.

Kelsey Jo Tackett fired in 18 points and Kirsten Cole-Williamson added 14 as the Lady Panthers evened their record at 5-5.

Grace Bartley and Leslie Stewart tallied 10 apiece.

GATLINBURG, Tenn. – Pikeville jumped ahead of Adair County early in the game and rolled to a 61-42 victory in the second round of the Smoky Mountain Classic played Dec. 21.

Grace Bartley poured in 22 points and Kirsten Cole-Williamson finished with a double-double, scoring 11 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, as the Lady Panthers improved to 4-5.

GATLINBURG – Pikeville struggled offensively in the opening round of the Smoky Mountain Classic and the Lady Panthers fell to Houston County (Tenn.), 45-34, in a game played Dec. 20.

Kelsey Jo Tackett was the only Lady Panther (3-5) to score in double figures with 10. Kirsten Cole-Williamson and Leslie Stewart added eight apiece.
