HS BASEBALL ROUNDUP: PCC tops Valley; JC streak ends

BUCKLEYS CREEK – Pike Central scored five times in the bottom of the first inning and held on to beat Shelby Valley, 8-6, in a game played at PCCHS Field April 29.

D’Sean Prinkleton had two singles and drove in three runs as the Hawks moved to 8-11. Keegan Bentley singled and scored a pair of runs while Jared Stanley doubled and batted in one.

Jonathan Potter was the winning pitcher.

Gabriel Brown had two hits, including a double, knocked in one run and scored for the Wildcats who tumbled to 10-10. Jackson Wierwille singled home one run and scored while Hunter Mullins and Samuel Brown each had two hits and scored twice.

Lincoln Billiter was tagged with the loss.

Ryley Preece finished with three singles and he drove in one run while scoring. Ryan Sartin, Cody Rice and Weston May all added a base hit and scored as Johnson Central ran its winning streak to 19 games.

Conner Lemaster pitched a four-hitter, working into the seventh inning before Delong came on and record the final out.

The Golden Eagles improved to 23-1.
