ERMINE – Belfry’s Adam Rahe and winning pitcher Avery Browning walked in the top of the ninth inning to force home the eventual winning run as the Pirates outlasted Letcher Central, 13-11 in a game that lasted four hours at Cougar Field March 21.
Kaleb Taylor had three hits, including a double, walked and scored while Brett Coleman added two hits, scored and knocked in one run in the win. Austin Rahe collected two hits, walked and batted in a pair of runs.
Manny Gibson tripled, walked and scored twice for the Cougars. Nick Mason singled and drove in one run.
Both teams are now 2-1.
