HIGH SCHOOL: SC’s Lafferty earns Player of the Week

Sheldon Clark’s Will Lafferty has been solid all season long for the Cardinals.

His recent play on the diamond has helped his team win three of their last four games. He had seven hits this past week, scored three runs, drove in five and has been solid defensively, earning him EKB Sports’ Player of the Week.

Lafferty edged out Floyd Central’s Logan Conley, who had five hits, scored a pair of runs and drove in six for the Jaguars.

Johnson Central’s Hunter McCloud finished with five hits, including a home run and double, scored four runs and drove in four for the Golden Eagles.

Here is a look at this week’s other top performers:
Belfry’s Avery Browning had four hits, including a pair of doubles, scored three runs and knocked in four.

Belfry’s Kylea Stanley had six hits, including three doubles, scored two runs and drove in three for the Lady Pirates.

Phelps’ Sierra Sincell finished with four hits, including a home run and double, scored three run and batted in six.

Sheldon Clark’s Brittany Thompson collected five hits, three doubles and scored six runs.
