Johnson Central’s Ryley Preece was one of several players with monster weeks on the diamond.
The Golden Eagle standout belted a home run, doubled twice and singled four times while scoring three runs and driving in seven.
His effort earned him EKB Sports’ Player of the Week honor, edging out Paintsville’s Matt Baldwin and Pikeville’s Randi Delong. The Tiger star doubled three times, singled four others, scored eight runs and batted in seven. Meanwhile, Delong belt three home runs, tripled twice, singled five times, scored four runs and knocked in nine.
Another top nominee was Sheldon Clark’s Paige Maynard, who finished with eight hits, including a home run, triple and three doubles while scoring seven runs and batting in 13 runs.
Other nominees included:
Paintsville’s Seth Williams. He had four hits in a single game, including a home and tripled, scored three runs and knocked in 10 runners.
Floyd Central’s Matt Combs had seven hits, including a pair of doubles, scored three and batted in four.
Shelby Valley’s Jackson Wierwille pounded out seven hits, scored seven runs and knocked in five.
Belfry’s Kaleb Taylor belted a home run, singled twice, scored seven runs and drove in five.
Betsy Layne’s Jordan Frazier collected four hits, scored twice and drove in three.
East Ridge’s Courtney Standifur had eight hits, including a double, scored four runs and batted in eight.
Johnson Central’s Chloe Vanhoose collected seven hits, including a triple and double, scored two runs and knocked in five.
Paintsville’s Anna Keeton had four hits and drove in two runs while pitching a no-hitter.
Pike Central’s Chloe Neece pounded out nine hits, including three doubles, scored four runs and batted in five.
Prestonsburg’s Haylee Niece had six hits, scored two runs and totaled seven RBI.
Shelby Valley’s Taylor Newsome had six hits, scored six runs and drove in a pair.
