H-M Shootout: Tug nips Pikeville in double-OT thriller

WILLIAMSON – What an ending to the 17th annual Hatfield-McCoy Shootout played at historic Williamson Fieldhouse Jan. 12.

Tug Valley slipped past Pikeville, 70-68, in a double-overtime thriller to cap off the two-day tournament.

Easton Davis led Tug Valley (5-5) with a game-high 20 points and Ian Reed followed with 18. Tyler Chaffin net 13 and Ethan Colegrove finished with 10.

Rylee Sammons led Pikeville (8-6) with 19 points and Connor Roberts added 18. Laithan Hall and Connor Byers chipped in eight each.

WILLIAMSON – Belfry took a 10-point lead against Mingo Central and held on for a 61-52 victory in the 17th annual Hatfield-McCoy Shootout played at historic Williamson Fieldhouse Jan. 12.

Justin Barker finished with 15 points and Ty May tossed in 14 points for the Pirates, now 5-11. Dezmon Roblee tallied 12.

Josh Wellman paced the Miners with a game-high 19 points and Isaac Moore added 15. Colton Blankenship chipped in nine as the Miners dropped to 0-10.

Trey James had 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Cardinals, now 5-11..

WILLIAMSON – South Charleston quickness and size advantage was too much for Shelby Valley to overcome as the Wildcats lost a 46-42 decision in the 17th annual Hatfield-McCoy Shootout played at historic Williamson Fieldhouse Jan. 12.

Cody Potter finished with 22 points and 18 rebounds as the Wildcats lost for only the second time in 16 games.

Orbie McPeek chipped in eight.

WILLIAMSON – Wesley Christian had a 15-point lead get away as Spring Valley rallied to stun the Circuit Riders, 78-77, in the 17th annual Hatfield-McCoy Shootout played at historic Williamson Fieldhouse Jan. 12.

C.J. Meredith finished with 35 points and Brock Booth knocked down the game-winning three-pointer in the final seconds as the Timberwolves won their seventh straight game.

Puoch Puoch and C.J. Allison fired in 19 each as the Circuit Riders dropped to 16-8. Miki Tadic chipped in 12.

The Warriors, now 5-10, landed four players in double-figure scoring as Kane Taylor and Dalton Wellman tossed in 16 each. Cameron Hess added 11 and Eli Sykes chipped in 10.

Seth Mayhorn led a balanced scoring attack for the Hornets, now 7-6, with a game-high 16 points. Jason Casey finished with 15 and Trey Francis followed with 14.

Matt Spaulding paced the Hillbillies (4-4) with 14 points while Zach Cook fired in 12.
