Golden Eagles steamroll past Lions

CANNONSBURG – Johnson Central’s Hunter McCloud recovered a fumble in the end zone for an early touchdown and the Golden Eagles went on to hammer Boyd County, 48-7, in a game played Friday night at Lions Field.

Running back Joe Jackson rushed for 137 yards and four opening-half touchdowns to help Johnson Central improve to 4-1 overall. He added a fifth rushing touchdown late.

Dillon Preston’s only carry was a 49-yard touchdown run.

The Golden Eagles have not lost since the season opener at home to unbeaten Capital.

Johnson Central plays at East Carter (3-2) next Friday night. .Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
