GIRLS BASKETBALL: Lady Hawks finish 3rd; Pikeville rolls

HAZARD – Pike County Central took third place in the Mountain Classic with a 52-38 win over Leslie County at Perry County Central Dec. 8.

Bailey Birchfield led a balanced attack with 15 points as the Lady Hawks evened their record at 3-3.

Lexi Newsome added 12 and Kelsi Brinager chipped in 10. Cassidy Mullins added eight.

Kirsten Cole-Williamson led a balanced attack with 14 points while Kelsie Jo Tackett followed with 13 as Pikeville improved to 2-2. Grace Bartley chipped in 12.
