EKB Sports Super Seven: Golden Eagles remain No. 1

Johnson Central holds on to the top spot in this week’s EKB Sports Super Seven rankings.

The Golden Eagles, despite a 28-21 loss at home to West Virginia power Capital, was ahead of Pikeville.

The Panthers jumped past Belfry into the number two position following a convincing win over LCA in the finale of the 34th annual Community Bank/WYMT Pike County Bowl. The Pirates fell one spot after a loss to Huntington High.

Shelby Valley climbed to fourth place, followed by the Paintsville Tigers.

Rounding out the ranking are Floyd Central and Mingo Central, ranked sixth and seventh, respectively.
