DAN SWARTZ CLASSIC: Golden Eagles claim title

OWINGSVILLE – Johnson Central, making its first-ever appearance in the Dan Swartz Classic came from behind and went on to beat Anderson County, 81-61, in the championship game played at Bath County High School Dec. 29.

Tournament MVP Isaiah May poured in a game-high 24 points as the Golden Eagles improved to 10-1.

Jacob Rice and John King followed with 16 apiece while Cory VanHoose added 13.

OWINGSVILLE – Johnson Central smacked East Carter square in the mouth from the outset and rolled to a 76-58 victory in the semifinals of the Dan Swartz Classic played Dec. 28.

Isaiah May fired in a game-high 30 points and Jacob Rice added 14 as the Golden Eagles moved to 9-1. Cory VanHoose chipped in nine.
