Pikeville High School senior quarterback Connor Roberts was a one-man wrecking crew this past Friday night in leading the Panthers to a 36-13 win over Class 1A bitter rival Paintsville.
Roberts rushed 10 times for 232 yards and three touchdowns and passed for 179 yards and two scores as Pikeville moved to 3-0.
For his efforts, Roberts has been selected as EKB Sports’ Player of the Week.
He had TD runs of 82, 20 and 72 while tossing catches of 70 and 17 yards.

Johnson Central running back Joe Jackson had 197 yards and scored five touchdowns, including four on the ground, as the Golden Eagles ran past South Charleston.
Belfry quarterback Avery Browning passed for 146 yards and two touchdowns and ran 80 yards for another in the Pirates 100th win at CAM Stadium over Newport Central Catholic.
Pikeville’s Christian Billiter hauled in four passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns.
Pike Central quarterback Tyler Hunt threw for three touchdowns as the Hawks rolled past Hurley, Va.
Mingo Central receiver Drew Hatfield had 137 yards receiving and a pair of touchdowns and he also rushed 60 yards for another score in the Miners win over Logan.
