Capital scores late, rallies past JC

PAINTSVILLE – Capital came to Eagle Field this past Friday night and left with a come-from-behind 28-21 win over Johnson Central.

It was the first win in three meetings between to the two football powers for the Cougars.

Running back Joe Jackson carried 23 times for 123 yards  to lead the Golden Eagles.

Quarterback Ryley Preece passed for 110 yards and one touchdown and rushed for a pair in the loss. Receiver Ryan Sartin-Slone had 106 yards.

Cody Rice scored the other Golden Eagle touchdown, a 21-yard run in the second half.

Johnson Central will host Henry Clay (1-1) Friday night.
