Campbell earns Player of the Week honors

Letcher Central running back Hunter Campbell has been a big part of the Cougars’ late-season turnaround.

He rushed for 146 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead Letcher Central to a 43-22 victory over Floyd Central this past weekend.

For his efforts, Campbell has been named EKB Sports’ Player of the Week.

Here is a look at this week’s honor roll:

Shelby Valley running back Dalton Meade had 140 yards and four touchdowns in the Wildcats home win over Boyd County.

Johnson Central running back Joe Jackson had 142 yards and three touchdowns in the Golden Eagles win over Belfry.

Pikeville quarterback Connor Roberts ran for 132 yards and two touchdowns and passed for 78 yards and one score in the Panthers win over Tolsia.

Mingo Central quarterback Daylin Goad passed for 147 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for another as the Miners cruised past Chapmanville Regional.

Pike Central quarterback Tyler Hunt passed for 160 yards and two touchdowns and ran 65 yards in the Hawks home loss to Ridgeview, Va.

Shelby Valley running back Seth Johnson finished with 258 yards and two touchdowns in the Wildcats win.

Floyd Central running back Josh Whitaker had 150 yards and two rushing touchdowns in the Jaguars’ loss to Letcher Central.

Belfry’s Isaac Dixon ran for 120 yards in the Pirates loss to the Golden Eagles.
