Brewer has big match in Lady Pirates win

Belfry’s Robbi-Ann Brewer scored five goals to power the Lady Pirates to a 9-0 win over Pikeville in a match at Massey Energy Soccer Complex on Thursday night.

Kylie Gollihue added two goals and assisted on another as Belfry moved to 2-2-0. Kylea Stanley and Marki Maynard scored one goal each.

Kenzie Maynard recorded the shutout between the pipes.

Pikeville goalkeeper had 14 saves as Belfry took 28 shots on goal. The Lady Panthers dropped to 0-2-0.

Paintsville’s Chloe Fleming scored the lone goal off an assist by Ava Hyden as the Lady Tigers blanked Sheldon Rock at The Rock, 1-0.

Goalkeeper Hope Auxier was solid as Paintsville won for the first time this season in four matches.

Lawrence County goalkeeper Allyson Moore has not allowed a single goal in five matches this season as the Lady Dawgs blanked Shelby Valley, 10-0, at the Dawg House.

Kylie Maynard knocked home four goals while Jordan Stepp and Zayla Granillo added two apiece. Aubrey West and Lydia Workman added one each. Hayleigh Fletcher and Ellie Webb both assisted on three goals.

In the only other girls’ match, Ashland Blazer defeated Prestonsburg, 5-2.

On the boys’ side, Lawrence County’s Tyler Maynard finished with four goals and S.J. Lycans added two as the Bulldogs rolled to a 10-0 win over Shelby Valley at the Dawg House.

Luke Johnson added one goal and assisted on four others while Will Dillow, Keith Caudill and Trevor Brooks scored one each. Lawrence County is now 4-0-0 while Valley dropped to 0-4-0.

Paintsville defeated Sheldon Clark, 5-0.
