EKB Sports has just learned that Pikeville High School senior Wyatt Battaile plans to play next season at the University of Louisville for Coach Chris Mack.
Battaile made the decision Monday evening to walk on.
He helped Pikeville High reach the state’s Sweet 16 the past two seasons and was named 15th Region Player of the Year.
The senior finished his career with over 2,000 points.
He had committed to Morehead State but accepted a preferred walk-on spot with the Cardinals instead.
“After talking with my family, I have decided to de-commit from Morehead State,” Battaile said in a note posted to his Twitter account. “I would like to thank (Morehead coach Preston Spradlin) and their staff for the opportunity. With that being said, I am happy to announce that I will be furthering my academic and athletic career at the University of Louisville. #GoCards.”
