ROBINSON CREEK – Shelby Valley’s Cameron Worrix hauled in a 79-yard touchdown pass late in the first half and the Wildcats rode the momentum to a 42-0 victory over Middlesboro in the opening round of the Class 2A playoffs played at Teco Field this past Friday night.
Running back Seth Johnson, who decided to play despite the untimely death of his father last week, rushed 14 times for 267 yards and four touchdowns. He had runs of 18, 49, 82 and 10 as the Wildcats improved to 10-1.
Quarterback Sam Stanley passed for 119 yards and one score. Running back Dalton Meade added 63 yards on 14 carries.
Shelby Valley will host Lexington Christian (8-3) Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
