Letcher Central’s Tod Looney made 15 saves as Belfry took 25 shots on goal while allowing just five to help the Cougars earn a 1-1 tie in a match played at Cougar Field Tuesday night.
Christian Long scored the lone Belfry goal as the Pirates are now 1-2-1. Zack Dollarhyde knocked home the only LCC goal. The Cougars are 3-0-1.
Prestonsburg moved to 4-0-2 with a 3-1 win over Johnson Central in a match played at Eagle Field.
Grant Justice had a pair of goals and Matt Burchett added one goal and one assist. Isaiah Collins added an assist.
Johnson Central is now 3-3-0.
Lawrence County’s Tyler Maynard scored three goals and assisted on one other as the Bulldogs scored a 5-2 win over Sheldon Clark at The Rock.
Luke Johnson added two goals and assisted on two others as the Bulldogs moved to 5-0-0.
The Cardinals dropped to 0-4-0.
In girls’ matches, Belfry’s Robbi-Ann Brewer had four goals and one assist to power the Lady Pirates to a 5-1 win over Letcher Central in a matchup at Eagle Field.
Kylie Gollihue added one goal and one assist while goalkeeper Kenzie Maynard totaled 10 saves. Belfry is now 3-3-0.
Hannah Sexton had the only goal for the Lady Cougars, who fell to 1-1-1.
Shelby Valley’s Hannah Adams scored three goals, including the game-winning shot in overtime as the Lady Cats slipped past Pikeville, 3-2, in a match played at Bob Amos Soccer Complex.
Abby Branham had two assists and Makayla Gillispie added one as Valley moved to 2-4-1.
Alivia Gearheart and Sydney Williamson each scored one goal apiece for the Lady Panthers, now 0-4-0.
Johnson Central goalkeeper Alyssa Pack had nine saves and two stops in a penalty kick shootout as the Lady Eagles slipped past Prestonsburg, 3-2, at Eagle Field.
Cleo Wells and Lauren Johnson made goals for the Lady Eagles and Konstance McCarty knocked home her penalty kick in the second round as JC moved to 6-0-0.
Makayla Ousley and Makayla Slone had one goal each for the Lady Blackcats, now 3-3-0. Elizabeth Burchett and Jillian Kidd each had an assist.
In the only other match, Sheldon Clark moved to 2-2-0 with a 6-0 win over Logan at The Rock.
