PIKEVILLE – The Shelby Valley Wildcats and Pikeville Panthers punched their tickets to the 15th Region All “A” Classic championship game set for 2:30 p.m. today at the Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center.

Shelby Valley held off a fourth-quarter comeback by Paintsville to escape with a 61-55 victory in the semifinal opener played Saturday.
Cody Potter poured in a game-high 24 points as the Wildcats improved to 17-2. Orbie McPeek added a baker’s dozen and Cameron Worrix tossed in 13. Keian Worrix chipped in eight.
Seth Williams paced the Tigers, now 12-3, with 18 points while Nick Keeton followed with 11. Colby Fugate and Brady Dingess added 10 apiece.

Pikeville took charge early on against East Ridge and never looked back in rolling to a 61-25 victory in the semifinal nightcap played Saturday.
Rylee Sammons tossed in 14 points and Connor Roberts added 12 as the Panthers moved to 11-6. Kyle Watkins and Zac Lockhart chipped in seven each.
Cameron Hess led the Warriors (6-11) with eight points.

Pikeville built a commanding halftime lead and steamrolled to a 75-25 win over Jenkins in a quarterfinal-round matchup played Friday.
Rylee Sammons and Connor Byers led a balanced scoring attack with 11 points apiece as the Panthers moved to 10-6. Zac Lockhart followed with 10 while Connor Roberts and Laithan Hall added nine each.
Jahkaya Templier paced the Cavaliers, now 1-17, with eight.

East Ridge rallied in the final period to force overtime on a late basket and then went on in overtime to beat Sheldon Clark, 75-72, in a quarterfinal-round matchup played Friday.
Cameron Hess finished with a game-high 21 points to lead the Warriors (6-10) in double-figure scoring. Elijah Sykes followed with 20 while Dalton Wellman hit for 16 and Kane Taylor dropped in 12.
Trey James paced the Cardinals, now 7-12, with 19 points and 13 rebounds to finish with a double-double. Braxton Maynard finished with 15 while Jordan Dalton hit for 12 and Cameron Dials added 11.
