PIKEVILLE – The spotlight shines on the Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center tonight as the 15th Region All-A Classic girls’ semifinals tip off.
Paintsville (14-3) and Prestonsburg (11-6) will face off in the opener at 6 p.m., followed by Pikeville (12-5) and East Ridge (4-13) in the nightcap at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Pikeville took control early on against Sheldon Clark and cruised to a 49-31 win to advance to the girls’ semifinals on Sunday.
Grace Bartley and Kelsey Jo Tackett led a balanced Pikeville attack with 10 points apiece. Jaden Edmonds and Alivia Gearheart added seven each.
Madison Thompson led all scorers for the Lady Cardinals, now 8-9, with 14 points. Paige Maynard followed with nine.

East Ridge landed three players in double-figure scoring as the Lady Warriors held off Jenkins, 64-59, to advance to the girls’ semifinals on Sunday.
Haylee Meade fired in a game-high 24 points and Kelsi Slone followed with 17. Kyra Looney tossed in 10 and Haley Parks chipped in nine.
Lindsey Rose led Jenkins (5-12) with 19 points while Jerrica Thacker tossed in 14 and Kristen Thacker added 13 in the loss.

Danielle Prater paced the Lady Hornets (6-8) with 15 points while Chloe Smith chipped in seven.

Reesce Endicott led a balanced scoring attack with a game-high 19 points. Caroline Ariaz followed with 17 while Alison Campbell netted 14 and Alivia Slone tossed in 12. Kaitlyn Keathley finished with eight.
Kimberly Akers had 15 to lead the Lady Bobcats (3-13). Alexandria Jarvis tossed in 13 while Katie Kidd scored 10 and Madilyn Meade followed with eight.
