UPIKE BASKETBALL: Bears remain unbeaten following win over Bethel

The University of Pikeville men’s basketball Bears pulled away in the second half to roll past Bethel, 94-70, in the final game of the Appalachian Wireless Classic played at the Arena on Saturday.

UPIKE, now 5-0, had beaten Miami-Hamilton on Friday night.

Jordan Perry poured in a game-high 26 points in the win over the Wildcats, who dropped to 1-1. Da’Rell Domineck followed with 15 while Luke Layhew hit for 13 and Chaz Hinds tossed in 12.

In the victory over the Harriers on Friday, Perry led a quartet of Bears in double-figure scoring with a game-high 17. Layhew followed with 15 while Xavier Gaona tossed in 13 and DeAndre Barton added 11.

UPIKE will now journey to the University of South Alabama for an exhibition game on Nov. 6.
