HS FOOTBALL: Johnson Central steamrolls Letcher Central

While Johnson Central’s offense was clicking on all cylinders the defense continued its dominance of opponents at Cougar Field on Friday night.

Quarterback Ryley Preece passed for two touchdowns and ran for another as the Golden Eagles rolled to a 48-0 victory over Letcher County Central.

The defense recorded its second shutout in four games and has allowed only two touchdowns in four games as Johnson Central moved to 9-0.

Cody Rice ran for two touchdowns and Devin Johnson ran for 97 yards and one score on five carries.

Zach Russell hauled in two passes for 62 yards, both for touchdowns.

Hunter McCloud, who led the defense with 13 tackles, picked off a pass and returned it 28 yards for a touchdown. Mason Lemaster followed with 10 tackles.

Johnson Central will close out the regular season this coming Friday night against the Belfry Pirates at CAM Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
