HS FOOTBALL: Golden Eagles race past Black Bears

Johnson Central used a balanced rushing attack and rock-solid defense to remain unbeaten with a 56-6 victory over Harlan County at Eagle Field on Friday night.

Running back Devin Johnson carried just six times for 159 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Golden Eagles improved to 8-0.

Quarterback Ryley Preece followed with 122 yards and two touchdowns on just three carries while backup quarterback Cody Rice rushed five times for 48 yards and three touchdowns.

Dillon Preston added a rushing touchdown. Placekicker Jake Headly converted on all six of his PAT attempts.

The Golden Eagles will visit Letcher County Central (3-5) on Oct. 25. Kickoff from Cougar Field is set for 7:30 p.m.
