HS FOOTBALL: Hawks hammer Hornets; Pirates next up

Pike County Central took an early lead and went on to score all of their points in the first half as the Hawks slammed Magoffin County, 42-6, in a game played on Friday night.

Quarterback Tyler Hunt tossed three touchdown passes, including a pair to Keegan Bentley, as Central improved to 7-1 and 3-0 in district play.

Running back Noah Iricks rushed for one touchdown and hauled in a TD pass while Matt Anderson rushed for one score.

Pike Central will return to the Hawks Nest to host Belfry (5-2) with the district championship on the line on Oct. 25. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. The Hawks have never beaten the Pirates.
