Belfry dominated Lawrence County from early on in the opening period and the Pirates went on to dismantle the Bulldogs, 48-0, on Hall of Fame Night at CAM Stadium on Friday night.
Running back Peyton Hensley rushed 11 times for 153 yards and two touchdowns and Isaac Dixon returned to the lineup and ran for 105 yards on nine carries. He returned the second-half kickoff back 84 yards for a touchdown which led to a running clock.
Quarterback Brett Coleman added a pair of touchdown runs of 14 and two yards and running back Chris Warren scored on a three-yard run to cap the scoring.
Belfry, now 5-2, will journey to Buckleys Creek to face Pike County Central (7-1) for the district championship on Oct. 25. Kickoff from the Hawks Nest is set for 7:30 p.m. The Hawks have never beaten the Pirates in a series which goes back to 1994.
Lawrence County will host Floyd Central (3-5) at the Dawg House on Oct. 25. Kickoff is also set for 7:30 p.m.
