COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Bears score big division win at Georgetown

The University of Pikeville Bears overcame an 11-point, halftime deficit to stun Georgetown College, 37-31, in a Mid-South Conference Appalachian Division matchup played at Toyota Stadium on Saturday.

It was the second straight win at Georgetown after the Bears had lost the previous 15 meetings.

Chris Dublin’s 79-yard punt return early in the second half fueled the second half comeback which saw the Bears, now 2-3, outscore the Tigers (2-3) 27-10.

Running backs Derius Gibson and Alexander Shelton rushed for a pair of touchdown each. Gibson finished with 184 yards on 26 carries.

UPIKE will return to action at Campbellsville on Oct. 19. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
