Harlan County pulled away from Letcher Central in the second half to send the Cougars to a 56-28 Coal Bowl defeat at Coal Miners’ Memorial Field on Friday night.
Letcher Central quarterback Carson Adams finished with 250 yards passing a three touchdowns, all coming in the opening half. He tossed TD catches of 62, 61 and eight yards. Adams ran for a second-half touchdowns, the only points scored by Central, now 3-4, after the break.
Running back Hunter Campbell hauled in a 61-yard touchdown pass. Jonah Little had 61-yard reception and Zach Hensley had a TD catch.
Letcher Central will travel to Manchester to face Clay County (3-3) on Oct. 11. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
