If you like watching teams run up and down the field, pass for touchdowns and score in big numbers – Bob Brewer Field was the place to be on Friday night.
Pike Central finished with 631 yards and running back Matt Anderson ran for six scores as the Hawks beat Tug Valley, 80-48.
Anderson rushed 18 times for 353 yards as Central improved to 5-1. Noah Iricks added 102 yards and one TD while quarterback Tyler Hunt ran for 73 yards and two scores. He also passed for one touchdown. Hunt ran three two-point conversions and passed for three.
Tug quarterback Ethan Varney passed for 283 yards and five touchdowns, three of those went to Caleb May who had 223 yards receiving as the Panthers dropped to 3-3.
Easton Davis and Tanner Kirk had TD receptions
The Hawks will return to action on Oct.11 as they host Lawrence County (3-3) in a district matchup at 7:30 p.m.
Tug Valley was scheduled to host Man (6-0) but the game has been rescheduled.
