Lawrence County quarterback Baden Gillispie ran for three touchdowns and passed for two others to lead the Bulldogs to a 42-28 victory over Magoffin County in a game played at the Dawg House on Thursday night.
Gillispie rushed 28 times for 147 yards and passed for 74 as the Bulldogs moved to 3-3 overall. He capped his big night with a 20-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Running back Trevor Young just fell shy of 100 yards as he rushed for 93 on 14 carries. Receiver Danny Hall hauled in three passes for 74 yards and two scores.
Magoffin County running back Jaylon McDuffus carried 10 times for 201 yards and a score while quarterback Lucas Litteral threw for a pair and rushed for another as the Hornets fell to 2-4.
Caleb Wilson and Brad Standifur each caught a TD pass.
Defensive standout Mason Lovely finished with 31 tackles, including 11 solo from his linebacker position.
Lawrence County will play at Pike County Central (4-1) and Magoffin County will host Floyd Central (2-4) on Oct. 11. Both games are set to kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
