HS SOCCER ROUNDUP: Pirates suffer fourth straight shutout

Mountain Mission scored three, second-half goals to pull away and blank Belfry, 4-0, in a match played at Massey Energy Soccer Complex on Thursday night.

The Pirates, now 7-6-1, have lost 4-0, 3-0, 2-0 and 1-0 consecutively.

Emmanuel Senso had a pair of goals while Nathan Irimaso and Imani Chacha added one each as MMS improved to 11-1-0.

Belfry goalkeeper Caleb Spears had 16 saves as Mountain Mission took 23 shots on goal.

East Carter goalkeeper Trevor Cline had four saves and was solid in helping Raiders to a 2-0 victory over Lawrence County on Thursday night.

Michael Primm and Jacopo Volpato had one goal each.

Lawrence County goalkeeper Trenton Adkins finished with 13 saves as the Bulldogs dropped to 7-5-2.

Martin County goalkeeper Ethan Frey finished with 13 saves, but it wasn’t enough as Paintsville edged the Cardinals, 3-2, in a match which ended in a shootout and penalty kicks at The Rock on Thursday night.

Bobby Hale and Josh Gauze scored one each for the Cardinals, now 7-5-0. Jestin Barker and Colby Barker had one assist each in the loss.

Lawrence County won its third straight match as the Lady Bulldogs slipped past East Carter in a close match played at the Dawg House on Thursday night.

Sarah Lycans had both goals as Lawrence County moved to 8-4-0. Jasmine Justice and Ellie Webb finished with one assist each.

Goalkeeper Allyson Moore had nine saves.

Paintsville held on late in the match to slip past Martin County, 3-2, in a match played at The Rock on Thursday night.

Camryn Helton had one goal and two assists as the Lady Tigers improved to 11-3-0. Michaela Nieminen added one goal and one assist while Chloe Fleming scored a goal.

Goalkeeper Hope Auxier finished with 13 saves.

Julia Pinson scored  one goal and assisted on a goal by Alysan Robinson as the Lady Cardinals dropped to 5-11-0.

Goalkeeper Marlie Fletcher had 14 saves.

Perry Central used a balanced scoring attack to shutout Pikeville, 4-0, in a match played at Bob Amos Soccer Complex on Thursday night.

Kyhil Jett had one goal and one assist while Hannah Estep, Khaci Jett and Sydnee Minks added one apiece.

The Lady Panthers dropped to 2-12-0.
