HS SOCCER ROUNDUP: P’burg battles South Laurel to 1-1 tie

Prestonsburg and South Laurel squared off at Josh Francis Memorial Field and battled to a 1-1 tie in a match played Tuesday night.

Matt Burchett scored off an assist by Dylan Moore as the Blackcats moved to 11-2-2.

Goalkeeper Jacob Martin allowed one goal.

Johnson Central built a two-goal lead over Belfry in the opening half and went on to post a 3-0 victory in a match played at Eagle Field on Tuesday night.

Nathaniel Narendrakamur had a pair of goals and Jake Headly added a third as the Golden Eagles improved to 3-7-0.

Ethan Pack, Braden Kennard and Sawyer Crum each had one assist.

Belfry goalkeeper Caleb Spears had 17 saves as Johnson Central took 25 shots on goal. The Pirates dropped to 7-5-1.

Lawrence County dominated Pikeville from the outset and cruised to an 11-0 victory in a match played at the Dawg House on Tuesday night.

Sarah Lycans knocked in five goals and assisted on one other as the Lady Bulldogs improved to 7-4-0. Autumn Maynard added three goals and an assist while Ellie Webb scored twice and assisted on four goals. Allyson Moore also scored.

Alyssa Moore, Allyson Moore and Webb combined for the shutout win.

Pikeville dropped to 2-11-0.

Letcher Central’s Brooke Bates scored six goals and assisted on one other to power the Lady Cougars to a 10-0 victory over Shelby Valley in a match played at Teco Field on Tuesday night.

Kerrigan Bolling followed with two goals and one assist while Shelby Howard and Mason Outlaw added one goal each.

Goalkeeper Kassandra Ramirez finished with two saves in the shutout as LCC moved to 4-6-1.

Prestonsburg continued its dominance on the soccer field as the Lady Blackcats went on the road to East Carter and scored a 10-0 win on Tuesday night.

Anna Burchett put in five shots and assisted on one goal as the Lady Blackcats moved to 14-2-0.

Makayla Ousley added three goals and two assists while Shelby Blackburn scored twice.

Jaden Minix and Chloe Collins each had one assist. Goalkeeper Chelsea Samons recorded the shutout win.

Johnson Central goalkeeper Chloe Dyer was solid between the pipes as the Lady Eagles scored a 5-0 shutout win over Belfry in a match played at Eagle Field on Tuesday night.

Lauren Johnson had two goals while Cleo Wells, Haley Lykins and Lakin Bentley added one apiece as the Lady Eagles improved to 10-3-3.

Belfry dropped to 8-7-1.
