University of Pikeville running back Xondre Willis has been named the Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division Offensive Player of the Week following his performance this past Saturday night against Bluefield (Va.) College.
The Belfry product rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries, giving him his ninth career 100-yard plus game and first this season in three games.
He is just 483 yards away from becoming the school’s all-time leading rusher.
MEN’S GOLF
University of Pikeville golfer Trey Isenberg has been named Mid-South Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week.
Isenberg won the Alice Lloyd Invitational following a three-way tie with teammate Blake Moody and Rio Grande’s Logan Sheets.
He shot rounds of one-under (71) and two-under (70) par.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
University of Pikeville women’s soccer scored a thrilling 5-4 home win over Midway in a match played at Bob Amos Soccer Complex Saturday.
Emily Branham scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner in the 86th minute of play. Mardorie Flahn, Skylar Chapman and Kylie Maynard had one goal each for the Bears.
UPIKE will return to action on Sept. 21 at Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon, Ga.
VOLLEYBALL
University of Pikeville was dominated in a road match this past Thursday as Georgetown College cruised to a 3-0 victory.
Noelani Simpson had 15 kills in the loss.
UPIKE will host Asbury Tuesday night at the UPIKE Gymnasium. The match begins at 7 p.m.
