HS FOOTBALL: Cougars drop home match-up with Union

Letcher Central running back Hunter Campbell ran for a pair of touchdowns and hauled in a pass for another, but the Cougars fell short to Union (Va.), 42-20, in a game played at Cougar Field on Friday night.

Campbell rushed 23 times for 93 yards and running back Hayden Brashear added 33 yards on 10 carries as Central fell to 2-2. Campbell caught three passes for 82 yards.

Quarterback Carson Adams passed for 90 yards and one score.

Sam Mullins and Jepatha Griffith each had a fumble recovery in the loss. Griffith led the team in tackles with 11.

Letcher Central will return to action on Sept. 20 at Pike County Central. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
