HS VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Lady Warriors cruise past Lady Cavs

East Ridge took charge early on against Jenkins and the Lady Warriors rolled to a 3-0 victory in a match played on the Reservation on Thursday night.

Sarah Tackett had 12 kills and three digs in the 25-6, 25-3 and 25-5 win. Kyra Looney followed with 10 digs, five digs and four serving aces while Laken Puckett had 22 assists, two digs and seven aces.

Phelps rallied from a two-set deficit to knock off Prestonsburg, 3-2, in a match played at Prestonsburg Fieldhouse on Thursday night.

Shakara Lester finished with five kills, 14 blocks and four digs in the 15-25, 25-27, 25-16, 15-17 and 15-11 win. Amelia Casey followed with 11 kills and eight blocks while Madison Prater had 10 digs.

Kara Steven added 10 assists and three digs and Alyssa Wolford had 10 digs and three serving aces.

Floyd Central overcame an early one-set deficit to beat Betsy Layne, 3-1, in a match played at home on Thursday night.

Alivia Stumbo had two kills, 11 digs and one serving ace in the 19-25, 25-14, 25-12 and 25-11 match win. Jaden Hall had 10 kills, four digs and three aces while Allison Turner collected 13 kills, three digs and one ace. Allyson Stumbo added nine kills while Caroline Parsons finished with 20 assists, five digs and two aces. Amelia Wallace added three kills, 17 assists and five digs.

Pikeville was dominating from start to finish as the Panthers cruised past Shelby Valley, 3-0, in a match played at T.W. Oliver Memorial Gymnasium on Thursday night.

Kaylee Wells had 14 kills in the 25-8, 25-8 and 25-9 win. McKinlee Potter followed with 10 kills. Chloe Wright and Hannah Akers added five each. Emily Gearheart had nine serving aces and Riley Tavis collected 22 assists.

Martin County….1

Paintsville won the final two sets to defeat Martin County, 3-1, in a match played on Thursday night.

Hailey Little had 22 kills, two blocks and three serving aces in the 25-20, 22-25, 25-13 and 25-20. Hadley Hardin followed with five kills, 11 digs and one serving ace while Bella Blackburn totaled 27 assists and five digs.

Johnson Central defeated Bath County, 3-1, (25-27, 25-17, 25-19 and 25-11)

Pike Central knocked off Letcher Central, 3-1 (23-25, 25-15, 25-23 and 25-15).
