Mingo Central fell behind early to Wayne before storming back to score a 56-16 win in a game played at Buck Harless Stadium on Friday night.
Wide receiver Drew Hatfield hauled in eight passes for 298 yards and five touchdowns, including three in the second half, as the Miners moved to 1-1. He had catches of 11, 42, 58, 62 and 90 yards.
Quarterback Daylin Goad passed for 317 yards and five scores and ran for 86 yards and two others. His TD runs were 13 and two yards.
Tanner Cisco returned a fumble 50 yards for a second-half scores for the Miners.
Wayne, now 0-2, led 16-6 before losing starting quarterback Gunner Harmon to an injury.
The Miners will play at Logan (0-2) on Sept. 13. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
