HS VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: East Ridge tops Phelps

East Ridge took control early on against Phelps and the Lady Warriors cruised to a 3-0 win over Phelps in a match played at the McCoy Athletic Center on Monday night.

Sarah Tackett totaled 10 kills and had four serving aces in the 25-18, 25-17 and 25-18 match win.

Lexy Little had 10 digs and one ace while Lake Puckett finished with 20 assists, four digs and two aces. Kyra Looney had five kills, two assists, five digs and five aces.

The Lady Warriors are now 5-2.

Shakara Lester totaled four kills, seven blocks for the Lady Hornets, now 1-5. Kacie Dotson totaled four kills, two assists, seven digs and three serving aces while LaRanda Francis managed four kills, four blocks and two aces.

Floyd Central continued its early season dominance with a 3-0 win over Betsy Layne in a match played at Junior Newsome Arena on Monday night.

Amelia Wallace had 11 assists, seven digs and two serving aces in the 25-9 25-10 and 25-13 match win. Kiara Warrens followed with 15 digs and two aces while Caroline Parsons managed 10 assists and two aces.

The Lady Jaguars moved to 6-0.

Maddie Duff totaled 22 assists for the Lady Bobcats, now 1-7. Erin Akers had three serving aces and Akira Keathley managed three blocks.

Wolfe County……1

Letcher Central took the final two sets against Wolfe County and earned a hard fought 3-1 victory in a match played at Cougar Arena on Monday night.

Summer Madden had 21 kills and seven blocks in the 25-16, 23-25, 25-20 and 25-19 match win. Rheagan Holbrook added 10 kills and seven digs while Cali Adams had nine kills and seven blocks.

Central improved to 3-1.

Pikeville defeated Shelby Valley, 3-0 (25-15, 25-18 and 25-15)

Pike Central rolled past Prestonsburg, 3-0 (25-11, 25-11 and 25-15)

Jackson City blanked Magoffin County, 3-0 (25-7, 25-12 and 25-12)
