Prestonsburg goalkeeper Jacob Martin recorded his fourth straight shutout to open the season as the Blackcats ran past Paintsville, 10-0, in a home match played Thursday.
Dylan Moore had three goals and one assist while Isaiah Collins added three goals. Matt Burchett finished with two goals and four assists. Austin Buchanan and Kane Scarberry each added one goal apiece.
Ben Burchett, Preston Crase and Scarberry had one assist each.

Lawrence County came up just short as Boyd County held on down the stretch to escape with a 2-1 road win.
Dayne Lawson and Ronnie Totten each had one goal apiece for the Lions.
Trevor Books scored the Bulldogs lone goal. Goalkeeper Trenton Adkins allowed just two goals and finished with 10 saves.

Prestonsburg’s Anna Burchett had three goals and assisted on another as the Lady Blackcats rolled to a 6-0 victory over Paintsville.
Chloe Collins, Makayla Ousley and Kadynce Hackworth each had one goal and one assist.
Goalkeepr Chelsea Reynolds recorded the teams fourth straight shutout to open the season.

Belfry soccer standout Kylie Gollihue scored seven goals to lead the Lady Pirates to an 8-1 win over Pikeville in a match played at Bob Amos Soccer Complex.
Belfry, now 2-1-1, took 31 shots on goal while the Lady Panthers (0-4-0) managed eight. Pikeville’s Madison Thacker finished with 22 saves. Kenzie Maynard had seven in the win.
Alivia Gearheart scored Pikeville’s only goal.
The Lady Pirates only other goal came when the ball came off a Pikeville player.
