Pike County Central opened the 2019 volleyball season with a 3-0 victory over Shelby Valley in a match played at the Hawks Nest Monday night.
Middle hitter Hanna Collins had 10 kills, numerous blocks and serving aces for the Lady Hawks.

East Ridge’s Kyra Looney finished with 11 kills, nine digs, two serving aces and three sets while Sarah Tackett had nine kills, three kills and aces to lead the Lady Warriors to a 3-0 victory over Prestonsburg in the volleyball opener played on the Reservation Monday night.
Lakin Puckett had 21 assists, 11 digs and two aces in the 25-10, 25-21 and 25-14 win. Lexy Little totaled 10 digs and Sylvia Ratliff had 12 assists.
Molly Boyd finished with 11 assists and five digs for the Lady Blackcats. Allya Jarrell totaled eight digs and three assists and Kelli Hopson had five digs and three serving aces.

Letcher Central’s Cali Adams had two kills and two blocks while Kyann Williams finished with three digs and two serving aces in a 3-0 win over Harlan County.
Makaylee Branham had three digs in the 25-5, 25-7 and 25-10 match.
