HS SOFTBALL ROUNDUP: Lady Hawks roll past Lady Warriors

BUCKLEYS CREEK – Pike County Central pushed across three runs in the bottom of the first inning and went on to beat Sheldon Clark, 11-1, in a game played at the Hawks Nest May 16.

Skylar Stumbo pounded out four hits, including a double, and scored two runs as Central moved to 14-19. Chloe Neece added three hits, one a double, knocked in one run and scored twice while Bailey Birchfied doubled, singled, scored a pair of runs and added an RBI.

Summer Marcum had two hits, scored once and batted in one run while winning pitcher Kayleigh Thomas singled twice and scored two runs.

Lakin Puckett led the Lady Warriors, now 14-18, with three hits, including a double. She drove in one run. Kiersten Coleman doubled and scored while Courtney Standifur added two singles.

Caitlyn Coleman was the starting and losing pitcher.
