Pike County Central’s Bailey Birchfield had a solid week for the Lady Hawks.
She had six hits, including a triple and double, scored three runs and drove in eight. Her effort on the diamond earned her EKB Sports’ Player of the Week honors.
Birchfield edged out Belfry’s Ariel Mounts, who had five hits, including a pair of triples and one double, scored three times and knocked in six runs.
It marks the first time this season the top two nominees were female athletes.

Pike Central’s D’Sean Prinkleton had three hits, including a double, scored once and batted in four runs.
Johnson Central’s Ryan Sartin-Slone finished with four hits, including a double, scored three runs and knocked in a pair.
Shelby Valley’s Lily Napier was solid on the mound, tossing a one-hit shutout.
Jenkins’ hurler Riley Fleming had four hits and drove in a pair of runs while pitching solid as well.
Pikeville’s Emily Ford had three hits and drove in five runs.
