HS SOFTBALL: Tri-State Showcase roundup

CANNONSBURG – Shelby Valley fell behind early on to Boyd County and the Bat Kats dropped a 9-0 decision in the Tri-State Showcase played April 13.

Tori Hampton and Maggie Hall had one hit each for Valley, which dropped to 4-6. Lily Napier was the losing pitcher.

Alyssa Hedrick had the only hits for the Lady Eagles, now 7-8. She belted a solo home run and singled. Katelyn Fitch added an RBI.

Napier was tagged with the loss as Valley dropped to 4-5.

Abigail Williams drove in a pair of runs  and Clara Blair added one as Paintsville dropped to 8-7. Mattie Ratliff had a pair of hits.

ASHLAND – Johnson Central pushed across six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to snap a 3-all tie and the Lady Eagles beat Lincoln County (W.Va.), 9-3, in the Tri-State Showcase played April 12.

Jaden Bowling had three singles, drove in four runs and scored as the Lady Eagles improved to 9-7. Alyssa Hedrick singled four times, scored twice and knocked in two runs while Katelyn Fitch and winning pitcher Chloe Vanhoose added three hits each and both drove in one run.
