PIKEVILLE – Paintsville senior Anna Keeton will go down as one of the top players in Tigers history.
She led her team to the 15th Region All “A” championship and an overall record of 20-11. Keeton finished with more than 2,000 points in her career and averaged nearly 21 points a game this past season.
Keeton has been chosen as EKB Sports’ Player of the Year, edging out Belfry’s McKenzie Maynard and Pikeville’s Kirsten Cole-Williamson.
Coach of the Year honors go to Pikeville High’s Kristy Ward Orem. She led the Lady Panthers to a 28-8 mark and first 15th Region championship since 1980 and a berth in the girls’ Sweet 16.
She edged out Floyd Central’s Justin Triplett for the honor.
The second team captain is Letcher Central’s Emma Maggard while Floyd Central’s Kaylee Moore captains the third team.
