LOUISA – Lawrence County boys’ head basketball coach Travis York has announced he is stepping down after spending the past five seasons leading the program.
York said he wanted to spend more time with his family, and watch his children participate in sports.
He isn’t going away entirely. In fact, he plans to help with the middle school girls’ program. His daughter plays on the team.
York’s five-year stint saw him win 100 games, capture three district titles and one 15th Region championship, which sent his Dawgs to the Sweet 16 in 2016.
The Lawrence County teacher has endorsed current assistant coach Wade Skaggs as the potential new coach.
