15TH REGION: Lady Jaguars cruise into semifinals

PIKEVILLE – Floyd Central managed to get off to a quick start against Magoffin County and the region’s top team rolled to a 58-35 victory in the girls’ 15th Region Tournament quarterfinals played at the Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center Feb. 28.

Floyd Central, now 28-2, will face Pikeville in the semifinals Monday night. Magoffin County’s season ended at 7-25.

Katie Moore tossed in 11 points and dished out 10 assists, the most in a single tournament game this week, boys and girls. Kaylee Moore led the Lady Jags in scoring with 12 points. Abby Maggard finished with 11 and Brooke Stumbo tossed in nine.

Magoffin County was led in scoring by Kennedi Stacy, who had a game-high 22 points. She also had 11 rebounds to finish with a double-double.
