PIKEVILLE – Lawrence County went nearly two full quarters with just a single basket in the second half and Johnson Central used a 23-5 run to close out the game and the Lady Eagles advanced with a 48-33 victory in the girls’ 15th Region Tournament played at the Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center Feb. 27.
Katelyn Fitch led the Lady Eagles, now 17-14, with 11 points. Ashlee Belcher and Alaina Castle added 10 each. Castle also had eight rebounds.
Kylee Maynard paced Lawrence County (22-11) with nine points while Kensley Feltner and Alexis Ratliff tossed in seven each.
The Lady Eagles advance to next Monday night’s semifinal matchup with Shelby Valley.
