PAINTSVILLE – Johnson Central took charge early on against Magoffin County and the Lady Eagles rolled to a 57-35 victory to capture the 57th District Tournament on Bill “Mike” Runyon Court Feb. 21.
It was the 17th tournament championship for the Lady Eagles who moved to 16-14. The Lady Hornets dropped to 7-24. Both teams move on to the regional next week in Pikeville.
Morgan Hopson finished with a game-high 18 points and Ashlee Becher added 16 in the win.
Morgan Damron was the lone Lady Hornet to net in double figures with 11.
