Defending Class AA champion Chapmanville Regional has now finished two seasons without losing a single game to a West Virginia School.
The Tigers, now 19-2, edged out Shelby Valley (26-4) for the number one ranking in the final EKB Sports Super 7 boys’ poll released Sunday. The Wildcats are second.
Both have gone back-and-forth all season long at the top.
Logan, which is 18-3, including a pair of close losses to Chapmanville, grabbed the number three spot.
Pikeville, 19-8 after a road win at Paintsville Friday night, is fourth, followed by Lawrence County (22-7) and Johnson Central (22-7) tied for fifth place.
Paintsville (17-6) rounds out the top seven.
Letcher Central (17-11), Pike Central (17-12) and Prestonsburg (15-14) received votes.
