PIKEVILLE – Pikeville built a commanding halftime lead against Clay County and steamrolled to an 89-55 victory in a game played at T.W. Oliver Memorial Gymnasium Jan. 31.

Roberts fired in a game-high 35 points to lead four Panthers (14-7) in double-digit scoring. Rylee Sammons finished with 16 while J.T. Orem added 11 and Christian Billiter tossed in 10.

CHAPMANVILLE – Chapmanville Regional’s Devin Collins stole an inbound pass with less than 10 seconds remaining and a breakaway basket sealed the Tigers thrilling, 51-47 victory over bitter county-rival Logan in a game played before a sold-out crowd at Danny Godby Gymnasium Jan.  31.

The top-ranked Tigers improved to 14-2 overall and the loss snapped Logan’s 11-game winning streak as the Wildcats fell to 15-2.

Obinna Anochili-Killen paced CRHS with 19 points and Andrew Shull  tossed in 12.

Logan’s David Early led all scorers with 25 points.

BUCKLEYS CREEK – Letcher Central used a big second half to take the lead away from Pike County Central and go on to score a 49-39 win in a matchup played at the Hawks Nest Jan. 31.

Greg Kincer led a balanced LCC (13-8) attack with 14 points while Tyler Boggs tallied 12. Dylan Webb added eight.

Brady Adkins poured in a game-high 19 points for the Hawks, who fell to 15-9. DaSean Penn followed with nine.

ROBINSON CREEK – Shelby Valley dominated from the opening tip against Magoffin County and cruised to a 72-33 win in a game played at the Shelby Valley Sports Center Jan. 31.

Junior Cody Potter finished with 21 points, seven rebounds and three steals as the Wildcats improved to 21-4. Orbie McPeek followed with 14 wile Cameron Worrix tallied 12. John Flanery chipped in nine.

Aden Barnett paced the Hornets (11-12) with 12 points while Isaiah Salyer tossed in eight.
